Airbus receives 331 orders in March

European manufacturer Airbus closed March with 331 gross orders, 303 more than in February, and 60 aircraft delivered, 25 more than the previous month, demonstrating once again the high demand for new aircraft driven by the airlines’ strong performance, as well as the dynamism of the European aerospace sector, which continues to post record order figures.

However, it is worth noting that total deliveries for the last three months amount to 114 aircraft, 16% less than in the same quarter last year, when Airbus delivered no fewer than 136 aircraft to its customers.

This decrease in delivery figures is due to the disruption of the global supply chain, which has particularly affected the Pratt & Whitney engines used in its aircraft, resulting in a decline in production figures.

While purchases and orders remain extremely high, it is worth asking whether Airbus will have sufficient industrial capacity to meet the relentless demand from airlines, given its commitment to manufacture and deliver no fewer than 870 new aircraft by the end of 2026.
