The European consortium Airbus will increase production of its A320 and A350 models. Specifically, it will increase its annual production from 600 units of its A320s to 900, and from 57 units of the A350s to 144. This rapid growth in production is due to strong demand from airlines, which are struggling to keep up with the huge demand from travelers, which is already causing airfare prices to rise.
Airbus needs to increase production to shorten delivery times. With the orders it already has in its portfolio alone, it has enough work for ten years at the current production rate.
Airbus Spain President Francisco Javier Sánchez has already announced that he will increase production of the A-320 to 75 aircraft per month by 2027 and the A350 to twelve aircraft per month by 2028. It’s worth remembering that Airbus Spain manufactures parts for these two models, such as the stabilizers, at the Cádiz factory, which will also result in more jobs for our country.
In short, this is good news not only for the aviation industry but also for the air transport sector, with airlines demonstrating a voracious appetite for purchasing aircraft and hiring pilots to fly them, which shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
